Cordova Dragway Park is one of my workplaces right now. I had to cut the season short in order to go to school, but they have already invited me back for next year. It's a great place to work, and even greater to race. If you and your vehicle are street legal, you can run there. Of course they let all of the "real" racers run too, but the common man can also race quite cheaply there.
One of the most exciting events for me is the Battle of the High Schools. All of the area high schools are asked to come and compete for a trophy and bragging rights to the great sport of drag racing. It is really growing in our area, and is a great way for us younger racers to get some experience.
